June 2016: Emerge Festival Evaluation

EMERGEfest16 was an arts festival funded by the Joyce Carr Doughty Charitable Trust and was commissioned and delivered by young people across the East Midlands to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, on the 23rd April 2016.

The EMERGE model is an innovative, energetic opportunity for children, young people, their family friends and communities to create, compose, and perform; visit, experience and participate in extraordinary work, and be able to know more, understand more, and review the experiences they’ve had. It turns familiar spaces into creative places, and the attention of the community on to the creativity of its young people, who develop their skills and secure confidence and recognition.

This report outlines the process, the festival's reach and impact and makes recommendations as to how we can develop this exciting model. The report was produced by Platform Thirty 1.
