Who we are

Creativity is vital. It is part of our social fabric, our economic offer and core to every child’s development.

Unfortunately, too many children and young people live lives with severely limited opportunities to be creative, to play, to culture. This isn’t good for children and young people, society or our economy.

This needs to change.

The Mighty Creatives is a charity whose purpose is to drive this change, to provide these opportunities.

  1. We secure investment to enable change.
  2. We build collaborations to create change.
  3. We secure high quality, high impact and sustainable change for children and young people in schools, communities, and the workplace.

The Mighty Creatives believe creativity is vital to our social fabric and every child deserves the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Working with partners and creative organisations across the East Midlands, we work to increase the opportunities available for young people to explore and develop their creativity. In schools, in communities and in workplaces, we build partnerships to offer vital opportunities for children and young people to be creative.

In the past year alone The Mighty Creatives has supported, trained and encouraged partners, communities and organisations to deliver the following:

  • Over 5,309 young people have developed their creativity, leadership and communication skills through successfully moderated Arts Awards, which translates as 157,115 hours of quality arts education provision
  • 275 schools across the East Midlands now provide a high quality arts and cultural education to over 60,000 pupils through Artsmark
  • Over 700 artists, educators and arts organisations are trained to work in and with schools;
  • Over 100 young people to deliver community based arts projects such as Act4Change;
  • Over 200 young people into creative industries through traineeship, apprenticeship and internship opportunities;

The investment we secure, the collaborations we build, and the change we deliver - all work to unlock the creative potential of young people, give them inspiring learning adventures and to make sure their voice is heard and their contribution valued.

We are The Mighty Creatives and this is what we do.
