The Mighty Creatives are going to be working with hundreds of young artists and creatives from across the Midlands. With investment from Spirit of 2012 and in collaboration with Arts Connect and UK Young Artists, we will deliver a series of arts festivals, inspired by the work of William Shakespeare.
For the 2017 festivals we are working with young artists Jasmine Gardosi, Jessica Richards, Kirsty Mealing, Paul Rogers, Sophie Watkinson, and Stuart Reid. They have been selected to work in the areas of Corby, Horncastle, Tamworth, and Wolverhampton, using Shakespeare as their theme and inspiration for the festivals . Please see the list below of the partners we are working with in each location;
Lodge Park School
The Core, Corby Cube
Horncastle Theatre Company
Fired Up Theatre Company
Landau Forte Academy
Penn Fields School & High Fields School
Wolverhampton City College
All our Emerge Artists will be working with the young people in each of the locations to devise and deliver a festival in their area, and also create a range of different performances and pieces of art for the festival. Young people will lead the decision making process and choose how their festival will be developed and delivered for their communities.Each young artist will be encouraged to secure an Arts Award.
Each location will also get the opportunity to apply for funding through the Emerge Young Decision Makers panel. The Young Decision Makers panel will receive training on commissioning and application processes, before devising an application process for the young people and artists in each location to apply to.
Festivals will take place on 23rd & 24th April 2017. More information about each festival will be available soon so please keep your eyes peeled here.
If you are a young person interested in being involved in
