Are you a young person who has worked with a Creative Mentor?

Are you a Supporting Adult of a young person who has been on our Creative Mentoring programme and looking for Easter Holiday activities?

 

This event is for young people who are currently or have previously worked with a Creative Mentor through The Mighty Creatives’ Creative Mentoring programme.

This FREE day-long event provides 3 different creative workshops for young people and their supporting adults (Creative Mentors, Leaving Care Workers, Foster Carers and Support Workers) to work together and get creative!

What will the day entail?

The day will include three different creative workshops, where participants can choose what they wish to engage with. You can do all three or just one or two of your choice. The workshops will be exciting and delivered by real artists who are also Creative Mentors.

The workshops will include:

• An exciting and unique photography style workshop – With Jo McLeish
• A ceramics workshop, where participants will get to work with easy air-dry clay and take something home with them – With Jo Slesser
• A drumming and music production workshop – With Richard Stone

It’s an opportunity for young people to work and communicate with others, with the support of their Creative Mentor or other Supporting Adults.

We hope, as part of the afternoon, we will be inviting all of the Post-16 young people for a workplace tour of one of our cultural quarter partners to have an insight into creative careers and to understand the widespread offer of opportunities for children and young people.

Young people will also receive a goodie bag to continue creating at home!

 

Will lunch and refreshments be provided?

Of course! How can you get creative without food?!

We will be providing a tasty pizza lunch as part of the day and our very own café will be providing fruit, cakes and drink options all throughout the day. You don’t need to bring any lunch or food with you.

I’m a Supporting Adult and would like to bring my young person, is there any support with travel?

If you are a Creative Mentor and wish to bring a young person or young people you are supporting, The Mighty Creatives will pay for your delivery time as well as reimburse your travel and expenses cost.

If you are another Supporting Adult (Support Worker, Social Worker or Foster Carer for example) The Mighty Creatives are happy to cover travel costs to enable access to the group session.

Where will the session take place?

The session will be taking place at The Mighty Creatives’ headquarters, in the heart of the Cultural Quarter of Leicester: LCB Depot!

We have booked three rooms called the Old Gallery, Garden and Courtyard Rooms.

LCB Depot is a short 5-minute walk from the Train Station and Bus Stations in Leicester. There is also affordable parking in the area too, with recommended car parks, of which can be found on LCB Depot’s website: http://www.lcbdepot.co.uk/contact-us.
