Join us and representatives from Derby City Council for Prevent Awareness Training.

These sessions are completely free for members of The Mighty Creatives’ Creative Mentoring pool and has been made bespoke to our Creative Mentoring programme. This is an optional training session.

The Prevent Strategy is part of the government counter-terrorism strategy (CONTEST). It aims to reduce the threat to the UK from terrorism by stopping people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.

With anyone working with Children and Young People, especially those in vulnerable circumstances, it is important we safeguard them from all risks and potential harm to themselves and others.

The session will provide an insight into what Prevent is, the key signs to spot if someone is being radicalised and how and who to share concerns with so individuals can be safeguarded.

You will also given an overview of local concerns and extremist activity, as well as the different types of threats that are currently prominent, including online radicalisation.

This training session is a vital training for all mentors and especially those that are currently working with young people referred by Prevent.
