About the Session: The Power of Motivation.
Motivation is a complex characteristic… Are we born with it, or do we acquire it? It is a personality trait, or a cultivated skill?

Whatever it is, one thing is for definite, and that is that highly motivated employees make for a happier, healthier and more productive workforce.

We all know that our words and our attitude; support, encouragement, leadership, praise etc.; strengthen motivation, but there is far more to it than this.

This is especially true for the young employee who is still at the mercy of the ‘Adolescent Brain’- which can have a significant impact on motivation – and doubly so for those young people with chronic distress or trauma in their past.

Exploring some simple but illuminating ‘motivational theory’, this workshop will deepen your awareness and understanding around motivation, enabling you to understand:

•Participants will understand how discipline and motivation are two very distinct attributes, even though they frequently present as the same thing
•Understand the difference between ‘intrinsic’ and ‘extrinsic’ motivation, and how to cultivate a more internally driven workforce
•Participants will understand how to recognise and appeal to the individual motivators of your team, helping to sustain effort and energy, and maximise the potential of everybody!

The session will be delivered by Jo Stockdale from Well Within Reach. Find out more about Jo and her work below.
