We teamed up with Highfields Centre and Voluntary Action Leicester for a brand-new adventure in creativity, confidence and futures for young people!
As part of our Youth Voice work, young people aged 16–25 from the Highfields area in Leicester were invited to take part in regular sessions with three artists to explore and develop their skills in music, visual art and graffiti.
Through this project, three amazing artists from different disciplines ran exciting workshops that helped young people explore their passions while working toward a Bronze Arts Award (with the option to go for Silver for those ready to take it up a notch!).
But it didn’t stop at the canvas, mic or spray can; this was about the bigger picture. Alongside the art sessions, Voluntary Action Leicester ran CV writing workshops to help young people turn their creative energy into real-world opportunities.
It was all about boosting skills, confidence and creative futures. We also had an amazing time celebrating young people and their artwork at our Highfields Voices exhibition. An exhibition of artwork, live performances by young people and the one and only Mr Shay (poet, MC and beatboxer).
We’re delighted that all of the young people who took part successfully achieved their Bronze Arts Award.
