Artsmark Development Training: Derby Cluster

Inspire learning through the arts, develop your vision for the future and prepare for your essential Artsmark journey.

This Development Training will equip you with all the tools needed for your Artsmark journey. Led by a specialist consultant you will be supported to reflect on your current practice and explore your vision for arts and cultural education in your school. You will be guided through the different stages of the Artsmark process and will work with other schools to generate ideas and plan your journey.

This training will be split over 2 sessions to allow a break for lunch. There will also be a comfort break in both the morning and afternoon session at the discretion of the trainer.

During the day you will:

  • Be given clear information about how the programme will work including key milestones
  • Reflect and share practice as a group
  • Consider the potential for cultural education in your setting and the impact of this on your pupils, staff and wider community
  • Work through the Statement of Commitment with specialist support to ensure you feel confident and comfortable completing this following the event
  • Be introduced to and have the opportunity to explore Arts Council England’s Quality Principles
  • Hear about what opportunities are available to you to build partnerships with artists and arts and cultural organisations in your area and beyond
  • Explore key development areas for potential development:-
    • Leadership
    • Curriculum development
    • CPD
    • Pupil engagement
    • Range of offer
    • Partnerships
    • Values and ethos
    • Equality and diversity
  • Be introduced to The Mighty Creatives and hear about what support and offers we can provide

The day will be split into two, 2-hour sessions with an hour lunch break in-between.

Venue

Italian Mill, Derby Museum of Making

Offsite parking is available nearby at the Assembly Rooms, Bold Lane and Chapel Street car parks and parking cards can be validated at the Museum of Making to give a discounted rate of £2.50 for a day.

There are 4 accessible parking bays on Silk Mill Lane which are for use by Blue Badge holders only.

Attendee Requirements

The Artsmark programme requires a minimum of 2 staff members per school at this event, one must be of the Senior Leadership Team.

Please contact us if this presents a problem.

You will need to have access to your school development plan on the day.

It would be useful to bring your laptops,  as you will need to work on your Artsmark workbooks throughout the workshop.

Covid-19 Procedure

We are asking all delegates to take a lateral flow test, at least 24 hours prior to attending. 

Face coverings are advised by the venue, but are not compulsory.
