As part of The Mighty Creatives’ commitment to Safeguarding Best Practice, we deliver annual Safeguarding briefings for Creative Mentors. It is compulsory for Creative Mentors to attend one Safeguarding Briefing each year.

Creative Mentors will get paid for their time to attend, at a rate of £30 per hour.

We have two options for Safeguarding Briefings this year, to make it easier for Creative Mentors to manage diaries. Creative Mentors only need to attend one of the two sessions, as the content will be repeated. These are:

• Monday 13^th January 4-6pm on Zoom OR
• Wednesday 22^nd January 9-11am on Zoom.

Attending in person is compulsory, however if you absolutely cannot attend either of the above briefings, Creative Mentors must watch the online recording on our Teachable Platform within 7 days of the second briefing (by Friday 31^st January), otherwise your Creative Mentoring sessions will be put on hold until you do so.

The session will be delivered by TMC’s Designated Safeguarding Officers, Emily York and Caroline Frankland.

The sessions in January will cover:

• Updates to The Mighty Creatives’ policies and procedures,
• Overview of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024,
• Refresher of Safeguarding FAQs,
• Refresher of Prevent and Radicalisation,
• Updates on the Creative Mentoring portal,
• Reporting mechanisms for disclosures and/or concerns,
• Further reading and recommendations,
• Q&A,
