This session is only for Creative Mentors on The Mighty Creatives’ Creative Mentoring Pool.

In response to the Creative Mentoring Support Survey, we have worked hard to craft a networking programme that responds to the needs of the Creative Mentors. We hope you find the sessions inspiring.

Join us and Creative Mentor Maria Credali for an in-person creative practice sharing session in Staffordshire.

Lunch will be included in the session, so please let us know of any dietary requirements.

What can I expect from the session?

Discover traditional oral storytelling

Professional storyteller Maria Credali will share some traditional tales from around the world as we consider how storytelling and riddling can be used to support our work with young people. During this fun and relaxed morning, you can expect to…

  • Hear some traditional tales and riddles from different cultures on a story walk through the beautiful surrounding of The Wolseley Centre (weather dependent),
  • Learn how to tell a short story yourself (alone of as part of a group),
  • Find out how to create new stories together,
  • Consider how storytelling can be used to support the development of young people’s skill sets.
  • Share tactics for developing young people’s skills in your own practice.

The workshop will take place at The Wolseley Centre  nature reserve in Staffordshire which is situated close to Shugborough and Cannock Chase AONB.  Part of the session is planned for outside, so please bring along suitable clothing and footwear for a walk.

The session will begin with 10 minutes of informal networking and getting to know each other.

This practical session is designed to provide inspiration and ideas for Creative Mentor activity and to provide an extra ‘string to your bow’ when working with your own Creative Mentees.

It’s also a great opportunity to connect in person and meet likeminded Creative Mentors.
