The Mighty Creatives’ Youth Board invite you to Without Walls, a weeklong celebration of the power of the arts, created by children and young people of the East Midlands.
The 5-day celebration, taking place from Monday 19th September to Friday 23rd September will be hosted by Leicester’s brand-new community space Beta-X, on Churchgate Leicester.
What is Without Walls?
Inspired by the social topics that really matter to children and young people, Without Walls showcases an immersive and interactive exhibition created by primary and secondary school students from across the region, designed, developed and curated by The Mighty Creatives Youth Board.
Each day will include workshops, provocations and discussions and we invite audiences from across sectors to work collaboratively to make change and shape the future, to ensure arts, culture and creative voices are accessible for every child, everywhere.
We are inviting people from across sectors from the Midlands to attend our afternoon gatherings and provocations, facilitated by TMC’s Youth Board. These will focus on how we can collaboratively ensure access to the arts across all sectors, but also how we can champion the creative voices of children and young people to make impact on the social causes they care about.
Take a look at what the week has in store below:
Our provocations, structured conversations facilitated by our Youth Board members, will follow 5 key themes that are important to young people of the East Midlands:
• Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: Monday 19th September from 3-5pm
• Arts and Education: Tuesday 20th September from 4-6pm
• Environmental Responsibility: Wednesday 21st September from 3-5pm
• Mental Health: Thursday 22nd September from 4-6pm
• Employment and Training Pathways: Friday 23rd September from 3-5pm
Why should I attend?
The Mighty Creatives’ Youth Board invite those working in and outside the arts and cultural sector with children and young people who are interested, work in or advocate for one or more of the above themes. We also invite those who are…
• Changemakers, committed to empowering the creative voices of children and young people
• Advocates of arts, culture and creativity
• Dedicated to learning about what is important to children and young people
• Committed to challenging themselves and people they work with to make positive change
• Ready to work collaboratively with organisations across the East Midlands.
Light refreshments will be provided.
