In partnership with Leicester Cultural Quarter, TMC are looking for local young people to get involved in the regeneration of two important roads in Leicester City Centre through creative activity.

Over four years, Leicester City Council will be working to improve these two roads, Granby Street and Church Gate . As key members of our community, it is vital that young people have their thoughts and opinions heard, exploring these areas through creativity.

Therefore, TMC are hosting workshops to enable the younger generations of Leicester get involved!

We will work with you to consult on your opinions before going out into the city to creatively document your perspective of the areas. We will then use the content collected on the walk to curate your very own exhibition at The Gallery at DeMontfort University, supported by local artist Sian Watson Taylor

The workshop will include:

  • Photography and audio recording training from industry professionals
  • Group discussions about the 2 key streets
  • Going out into Leicester to document the streets as they currently are, using your photography and audio skills
  • Consultation with artist Sian Watson Taylor
  • Planning and curation of an exhibition at DMU

If you’re interested in having your voice heard and making a difference to your city – get involved!
