TMC’s Chief Executive named ‘Most Inspiring Children’s Mentoring Organisation CEO’

Here at team TMC, we’re delighted to announce that our CEO, Dr Nick Owen MBE, has received recognition in the Global CEO Excellence Awards 2023 after being named the Most Inspiring Children’s Mentoring Organisation CEO 2023.

The Global CEO Excellence Awards serves to recognise and celebrate those who have seen incredible success over the last year. Following the growth of our core youth service, Creative Mentoring – which has risen by 700% since it first launched – our charity has shifted its focus to develop our service areas in direct response to the most unheard children and young people in society.

Did you know that 85% of our young beneficiaries are care experienced, and all have an identified need? Whether they have an education, health and care (EHC) plan, are at risk of exclusion from school or in alternative provision, a young carer, have a disability or illness or special educational needs, are seeking asylum, or on free school meals – our Creative Mentoring service empowers them to discover their sense of self, purpose, belonging, and a world of possibilities.

The award recognises Nick’s leadership and vision in driving regional, national, and international collaborations for The Mighty Creatives, which have generated new employment, educational, and cultural opportunities for artists, teachers, and young people.

Nick Owen comments:

While I’m not at the start of my career, I’m not at the end of it either, and I feel I still have the energy and desire for my next major challenge which brings together everything I’ve learned. We are now constantly on the lookout for potential allies, stakeholders, influencers, and other human catalysts who can help bring our future vision to fruition.
