about the project

Working alongside our European partners since October 2020, we developed an active research programme across Europe known as the Well-Be project and funded by Erasmus+. This crucial research has explored the impact of the pandemic on the mental health, wellbeing, learning and development of young people aged 14-19 across the UK, Bulgaria, Spain, and Italy – and the impact on teachers and parents. We achieved this through a comprehensive research programme, surveying students, teachers and parents in our respective countries.

There’s no denying that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a broad and complex effect on an entire generation of students. But what do those students really think and feel? How did the pandemic, the associated lockdowns, and disruption to their school and social lives impact their wellbeing, learning and development?

Join us on Thursday 1st December, 4-6pm

Whether you’re a teacher, headteacher, or safeguarding lead, you’ll discover:

  • Key statistics and findings from the research programme.
  • The far-reaching impact of the pandemic on students’ mental health, wellbeing, learning and development.
  • The impact of ‘crisis stress’ on the mental health and wellbeing of young people.
  • How the impact on UK students compared with students across Europe.
  • What we can learn from the research to better prepare for future
  • How our practical teacher toolkit (developed in response to the research findings) can support you to better understand and navigate the ongoing challenges presented by the pandemic.
