what was the project about?

When Rutland County Council got in touch with us (a small but mighty charity with a big passion for youth voice), we jumped at the chance to get involved. They wanted to shine a spotlight on the experiences of young people and adults using their SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) services. And we knew just the way to do it!

what happened next?

So, we teamed up with a brilliant animator to chat with participants about their journeys through SEND services. These honest, powerful interviews were then transformed into an animated film, capturing real voices and turning it into something vibrant and visual.

why was this project important?

Having a strong sense of authentic youth voice at the heart of the project aligns with our mission to amplify young people’s perspectives and empower them to share their stories in meaningful and creative ways. By bringing their experiences with SEND services to life through animation, we sought to create a platform for their voices to raise awareness within the community of the services on offer.
